Lea Davey writes contemporary Australian Fiction and 'Silkworm Secrets' is her second novel. Her first novel 'The Shack by the Bay' was published in 2016 and has captured the interest of both Australian and international readers, drawn to the intriguing blend of Australian characters, unique landscapes and story of romance. 'Silkworm Secrets' has been recognised as a novel that not only exposes the secrets that children keep, but also highlights the effects of troublesome family lives. Although the book does cover some darker aspects of family life the enduring thread that weaves the characters and story together, are the beautiful relationships and the goodness that exists in so many families. Lea draws on her experiences gained from travelling around Australia and years spent studying and teaching history to bring together compelling contemporary fiction.
