Raised in Indiana, still counting Orland, Indiana as his home, Andy started his first business while in the final year of a Philosophy degree at Indiana University - a degree that he never got round to completing! After a low point as an alcoholic, he went on to have a successful career in real estate, before realising there should be more to life than ever-longer work weeks in the quest for money that greatly exceeded his needs. He then left the USA for 'a life less normal', as he puts it - but infinitely more rewarding. He has since spent 21 years as a world traveler, refining the art and skills of living well on $500 per month. The online commmunity he founded and still runs, HoboTraveler.com, now has over 30,000 like-minded members. His driving force is summed up in his signature phrase: 'Life is good'.
