This is Carol Mowdy Bond's third book. Cloistered in area families' scrapbooks and attics, most of the images she found have never before been seen by the public nor the amazing stories been told. A native Oklahoman and Yukon High School graduate, she holds a bachelor of arts degree in history from Oklahoma State University. Carol is a historian and a county newspaper reporter and photographer who also writes for state and national periodicals, and she has hundreds of published works. Carol's ancestors were at Plymouth Colony. In the 1830s, her great-great-great-grandparents traveled their trail of tears from Mississippi into Indian Territory. Carol is a registered member of Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.
