Dr Clare Wright is an award-winning historian and author who has worked as an academic, political speechwriter, historical consultant and radio and television broadcaster.
Wright's The Forgotten Rebels of Eureka won the 2014 Stella Prize and the 2014 NIB Award for Literature and was shortlisted for numerous other prizes. It is published in a revised edition as We Are the Rebels, which was a Children's Book Council of Australia Notable Book for 2016. Her essays and journalism have been widely published.
Her work in other media includes the ABC-TV documentaries Utopia Girls: How Women Won the Vote and The War That Changed Us, as well as the podcast Shooting the Past, which is broadcast on ABC Radio National. Clare Wright is currently an Associate Professor of History at La Trobe University. She lives in Melbourne with her husband and their three children.
