Cathy Hird is a shepherd and a weaver. She runs a small sheep farm with her family, and she shepherds a church in rural Ontario. Cathy weaves tapestries and scarves, and her writing draws together the threads of ancient myth and modern questions. Cathy is a passionate story-teller. Even in her non-fiction, stories creep in as she explores the landscape she lives in and the shape of modern life. Her writing reflects these roots, but is also informed by her extensive travels in Africa and South Asia. As well as writing spiritual reflections, she writes young adult fantasy novels that weave ancient mythology and modern questions into fast paced stories.
