Elizabeth Perez is Assistant Professor of religious studies at University of California, Santa Barbara. She is author of Religion in the Kitchen: Cooking, Talking, and the Making of Black Atlantic Traditions (NYU Press, 2016). She is also the winner of the Clifford Geertz Prize in the Anthropology of Religion (2017) and Women's Spirituality Book Award (2018).
