Jenny Doughty, formerly Jenny Green, is a British freelance writer and poet who has lived in Maine since 2002. She is a former English teacher, and Education Adviser to Penguin Books in the UK. In addition to poetry, she has also written children's non-fiction, **Historical Diaries, Letters and Journals**, and **Breakthroughs in Science** and edited **Key Poets**, an anthology of pre-20th century poetry, under the name Jenny Green. Her short stories and articles have been published in a number of magazines which include **Bella** magazine, **Parenting**, and **First Steps**, where she also did a stint as an agony aunt (Brit-speak for a person like Dear Abby who offers answers to readers' problems). In the United States, her poems have been featured in **Gestalt Review**, **Naugatuck River Review** and **Horticulture** and **Pulse** online magazines. She also moderates the [talk forum of the British TV program QI][1] and contributed research to their **Book Of Animal Ignorance** and their interactive DVDs **A Quite Interesting Game** and **Strictly Come Duncing**.

She has never been to Australia, and the books relating to Australia and foreign languages on this page are definitely by a different Jenny Green.
