Sally Townsend is an organisational psychologist by trade, and has qualifications in psychology, business studies, health and interior design. Since 2000 she has been lecturing at Swinburne University of Technology, Lilydale. Prior to this she had her own management consulting business, working mainly in the areas of job analysis, evaluation, quality management and psychological assessment. She also provided academic services to a number of universities in Victoria and interstate. For the past six years, Sally has been lecturing in the Bachelor of Business (Tourism and Management), Bachelor of Management and Bachelor of Business Human Resources Management. This includes subjects such as Introduction to Management, Organisations and Management, Organisational Behaviour, Organisational Change and Development, Strategic Planning, Leadership and Management, and Human Resource Management. She is currently also involved in the Honours program at the University.For a number of years Sally has been involved in developing learning guides and self-paced learning material for a range of organisational management topics, and has co-authored Managing People: Workplace Practice, a title in McGraw-Hill's previous Management Skills Series. Sally wrote Develop Teams and Individuals for the current BSS Series. Sally says that this has been a most rewarding aspect of her work as it has enabled her to be part of a most interesting virtual work team.
