Based in London, Jennifer Holmes read English at St Anne’s College, Oxford, before joining the Civil Service. After a career break she worked as genealogist, researcher and eventually co-editor on the letters of Isaiah Berlin, then was awarded a DPhil in Biography by the University of Buckingham for her work on Ray Strachey.
