Rosalind Solomon was born in Illinois in 1930. She studied under Lisette Model in the 70s and since then has traveled extensively through Italy, Guatemala, India, Mexico, South Africa, Ireland, Colombia, Peru, Nepal, Tibet and Israel. The recipient of fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the American Institute of Indian Studies and the NEA, her photographs have been exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the Smithsonian's American Museum of Natural History and The Museum of Modern Art, New York. She lives in New York.
