James A. Kushlan, previously a wildlife biologist in Everglades National Park, is an author of works including Seeking the American Tropics, a history of south Florida's early naturalists. Kirsten Hines is a writer, wildlife photographer, and conservationist. Together, they authored the Arcadia Publishing books Key Biscayne, Biscayne National Park , and Dry Tortugas National Park.
