Robert Carlsen recently retired from the Department of Anthropology at the University of Colorado where he taught for twenty years. He is now an independent researcher. Dr. Carlsen's research addresses diverse aspects of Guatemala's cultural beauty and political tragedy with a particular focus on the Mayan textile arts and on Mayan cultural continuity and change.
