Dr D.P. Mishra has obtained his B.E. (Mechanical) from University College of Engineering, Burla, Orissa, and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He is a recipient of the Young Scientist Award in 1991 from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India. Presently he is working as a faculty member in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, where he was instrumental in establishing a combustion laboratory. He has more than 15 years of teaching and research experience. In the year 2002, he has served as Visiting Professor at Tokyo-Denki University, Japan. His areas of research interest include combustion, computational fluid dynamics, atomization, etc. He has to his credit a number of publications in national and international journals and conferences.
