Ron Chase is a former registered Maine guide and IRS accountant, and was active in the AMC as canoe chair and a trip leader. Now a freelance writer, he is a regular contributor to newspapers and magazines. He and his wife Nancy cowrote Mountains for Mortals: New England: Scenic Summits for Hikers. Ron lives in Topsham, Maine.
