Yongshan Ding is a fourth-year graduate student in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Chicago, advised by Fred Chong. Before UChicago, he received his dual B.Sc. degrees in Computer Science and Physics from Carnegie Mellon University. His research interests are in computer architectures, quantum algorithms, quantum information, and error correction. He builds systems that enable efficient scheduling and mapping from high-level circuits to noisy near-term devices and designs algorithms using tools from property testing, representation theory, and topology.
