Judy Rankin has a BA(Hons) from the school of Media and Communication at Curtin University and is currently completing a PhD through RMIT, Melbourne. Although Melbourne is home, she has lived all over Australia, including the Yolngu community at Milingimbi, Arnhem Land. Knowing what Indigenous Australians can teach non-Indigenous Australians, Judy wants to convey the message that the bridge to reconciliation isn't as vast as it may appear. Judy has worked with people from different cultural orientations teaching English as a second language and as a freelance writer for several Chinese companies. She is a published writer with several short stories and articles published in Australian magazines, book reviews in Good Reading Magazine as well as having published a historical fiction novel through Pegasus Publishers and a memoir through Balboa Press. Judy has joined forces with her granddaughter to create this debut novel written for middle-grade readers.
