Jay O. Sanders is an American writer/actor who has collaborated with Richard Nelson eight times in the last eight years, experimenting with a bold new form of theater geared to a time of ubiquitous screens, exploring a simpler, overheard live theater experience in place of our traditional presented style. He has worked extensively for more than forty years in all mediums, with a special passion for Shakespeare and new plays. In 2014, a reading of his own play, Unexplored Interior, set in and around the 1994 genocide in Rwanda, was livestreamed from the Museum of Jewish Heritage to the Kigali Genocide Center in Rwanda to mark the 20th Commemoration, and in 2015 it was fully produced as the inaugural production of Washington, D.C.'s Mosaic Theater.
