Born to a mother who was an avid drag racer, Norris was exposed to drag racing and vintage cars at an early age. A fascination with the Model A hot rod led him to take classes in school for photography and metal fabrication. Shortly after school, in addition to working at a hot rod shop, Norris began writing and shooting freelance assignments for various magazines, including Hot Rod Deluxe. Now, along with to authoring his first book, he is building hot rods on his own.
