David Lancaster was born in Hayes, west London. After studying philosophy and literature at the University of Warwick, he worked for Mark Williams on his monthly magazine MotorCycle International. Now a Senior Lecturer in Journalism at the University of Westminster, he writes on classic bikes and culture for the website Southsiders MC and is compiling a book and documentary on Vincent-HRD motorcycles. He has also been a researcher and director on BBC2’s Top Gear, launched a number of magazine titles, and spent two years on The Times.
