Lydia Rand was born in Paris and her first book of poetry was published in that city. After traveling the world, she and her American husband eventually settled with their children in Northern California, where Lydia helped her husband build their house in the redwoods while writing articles and short stories, which have appeared in poetry reviews, literary magazines and anthologies all over the country. She has read her work on public radio, worked as a translator, hosted writing retreats in France, and been an editor and facilitator for Mendocino Stories' online magazine and performance series. Her previous publications include two books of poetry, a book about the spiritual practice of Subud, The Many Faces of Subud, and a collection of travel stories, Along the Way.
