Helen Collins is a Connecticut native. She earned her MA in English at the University of Connecticut, and for many years was a professor of English at Nassau Community College, Long Island. She has published two science fiction novels, in addition to the lesbian romance, Egret. She is strongly committed to Yoga, painting, animals, old houses, and the preservation of the natural environment. She is restoring a house built in 1740 that overlooks a threatened tidal marsh.
