Phyllis Baker lives in the South Florida Area and during the summer months she resides in Northampton, Massachusetts. She is a Professor of Sociology at Miami Dade College and an Adjunct Professor at Florida International University and Union Institute and University. She was recently recognized in the Miami Herald as a Phenonomenal Faculty Member of Miami Dade College. Her book African-American Spirituality, Thought and Culture, traces her historical roots and personal and professional understanding and reflection of herself and her culture.
