Mayo Lucas began her writing journey at age twelve, creating fan fiction inspired by the TV western, Wagon Train. An avid reader of Victorian literature and American classics, she was particularly influenced by Margaret Mitchell's Gone With the Wind, which spurred her to write her own stories.Encouraged by her eccentric Great Aunt Evelyn, Lucas later inherited her aunt's desk, typewriter, and original stories, reigniting her passion for writing. At twenty-eight, she wrote her first novel, Matters of the Heart, which secured a deal with Avon after placing fourth in the national Golden Heart Contest. Her second book, Camelot Jones, followed shortly thereafter. After a creative hiatus, Lucas returned to writing. Her latest novel, Dealer's Choice, received a five-star review from Readers' Favorite. Not yet on the market-but coming soon-are Amelie, historical women's fiction, and Conversations, a contemporary rom-com.
