Laurence Cockcroft comes from Todmorden in West Yorkshire and is an expert on economic development issues– especially in Africa. He is also a co-founder of Transparency International, an NGO which combats corruption around the world and has written two books on the subject: Global Corruption (2012) and Unmasked: Corruption in the West (2016).
