The author of the bestselling memoir, ALMOST FRENCH, which sold more than 200,000 copies in Australia alone, Sarah Turnbull is a former television journalist with SBS, who started working as a freelance writer in print media after moving to France from Sydney in 1994. While in Paris she wrote regularly for the SYDNEY MORNING HERALD'S GOOD WEEKEND, TRAVEL & LEISURE and THE AUSTRALIAN MAGAZINE. In the 1998 MPA awards she was named Feature Writer of the Year for three investigative stories published in MARIE CLAIRE. After moving from Paris to Tahiti, where she lived for three and a half years, she now lives in Sydney.
