Stacy Johnson, a BFA graduate of Parsons School of Design, began her career on Seventh Avenue apprenticing for leading fashion brands before breaking out on her own with a boutique and atelier in Brooklyn, for her Stacia clothing line. From the humble streets of Brooklyn, she fine-tuned her craft and pioneered the retail scene on Smith Street and creative hub in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Her years of experience and passion for fashion inspired her to write Mabel the Fashion Muse, a book that gives future designers an authentic look at a fashion design career and empowers girls to adopt an entrepreneurial spirit. Mabel, her college dress form and muse, was the perfect character to tell her story, hoping to inspire young girls to dream big. Today she lives with her family in California and continues to design her Stacia creations on Mabel, her trusty dress form.
