Don Karl (AKA Stone) is a cultural activist, graffiti writer, author, and publisher. He has written graffiti since 1983 and published his first book on the topic in 1986. Many books and articles have followed. He co-wrote the books Arabic Graffiti and Walls of Freedom and has curated numerous international Urban Art projects. Since the beginning of the Arab uprisings, Stone has worked closely with Egyptian street artists in a series of events and exhibitions.
