Palefsky is a professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. He trained in internal medicine at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and in infectious diseases at Stanford University. An internationally known expert on human papillomaviruses and the diseases that they cause in men and women, he has published over one hundred articles and book chapters on HPV.
