Todd Dills grew up in Rock Hill, SC, graduated from Winthrop University (1998) and finished an MFA in fiction writing at Columbia College Chicago in 2003. He is the author of a prior novel, Sons of the Rapture (Featherproof Books, 2006) and a short story collection, Triumph of the Ape (2012), and was founding editor and publisher of The2ndHand, a literary broadsheet published from 2000-2013. The2ndHand continues as a sometime book publisher. Dills has been senior editor for Overdrive, a trade magazine for the small businesses in the long-haul trucking industry, since 2006. His feature journalism work there has earned several honors in business-to-business journalism. In 2014, excerpts from SHINING MAN afforded him the Tennessee Arts Commission's Individual Artist Fellowship in Fiction. He lives in Nashville with his wife, Susannah, and daughter, Thalia.
