John R. Takacs is an inventor, adventurer, and avid outdoor enthusiast. Following high school, he enlisted and served with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. He was wounded in action and received the Purple Heart Medal. After attending Indiana University, Takacs worked as a high-rise iron worker, where he cultivated the adrenaline high his Army career had fostered.
