Kerri Lukasavitz holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design where she studied Illustration and Interior Architecture & Design, and a Master of Arts in English from Mount Mary College with an emphasis on Creative Writing and Literature. She has spent the last seventeen years designing spaces and more recently, designing words on pages. She came into the world with a passion for horses clearly encoded in her DNA. Besides owning her first two ponies and showing in 4-H, she has experienced life as a show groom, rider, and riding teacher in hunter/jumper barns, and volunteered at a local therapy stable. Horses still move her soul. She and her husband recently moved into her parents' farm property in Southeastern Wisconsin where she spent a good portion of her childhood dreaming of living an equestrian life. This is her first middle grade novel. A percentage of the book's proceeds will be donated to the Midwest Horse Welfare Foundation, Inc. and the Wisconsin Humane Society.
