Patrick Gaffney served twelve years in the Royal Navy. He lived for thirty-one years in Canada, where he wrote several articles in local Canadian newspapers, and attended two universities – Ottawa and Montreal – studying North American History. Patrick moved to the UK in 1997 and now lives in Kent with his wife.
