Gusti was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he studied graphic arts. He has published over 25 books, many of which have been translated into foreign languages. An award-winning illustrator, he has received the Golden Apple in Bratislava, the Lazarillo prize for illustration (twice), the Edelvives prize, and an honour list diploma for illustration from IBBY.
