Jack Hodgins grew up in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island and taught at the University of Victoria. Known throughout the world as one of Canadas leading fiction writers, Hodgins has won numerous prizes, including the Governor Generals Award, the Ethel Wilson Prize, the Canada-Australia Prize, and the Victoria City Butler Prize.
