Sue Cox's interest was not just in breastfeeding her children but later in supporting and educating both families and health professionals about the wonders of parenting and breastfeeding. She has moved from being an Australian Breastfeeding Association counsellor to becoming the first certified hospital lactation consultant in Australia; carrying out a private practice; and being elected as the first non-North American president of her international professional organisation. Sue was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2004 'for service to community health, particularly as a lactation consultant, educator, and counsellor for the care of breastfeeding mothers and their babies'. She has previously written four books on parenting and breastfeeding and written and produced four DVDs to assist mothers-to-be, mothers and their partners.
