Stein s new series of historical fiction, set against the backdrop of ancient Rome, marries his longtime passion for that period and its culture with his love of science, ancient coins, and medicine all depicted through his innate sense for storytelling and descriptive prose. The Medicus Codex is the first in that series (Balcony 7, May 2016), followed by Caligula and I, (Balcony 7, 2017). Both are written with an account so authentic, readers will be moved by the many parallels between ancient civilization and modern times. Stein is a native of New York, now residing in Pasadena, California. He is a graduate of Brown University, obtained his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Stanford University, and studied medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, N.Y
