Michael K. Johnson, Farmington, Maine, is associate professor of English at University of Maine at Farmington. He is the author of Black Masculinity and the Frontier Myth in American Literature, and his work has been published in African American Review, Literature/Film Quarterly, Quarterly Review of Film and Video, and Western American Literature.
