Born and raised in the outskirts of Kansas City, Missouri, Oliver Ross was exposed to the BBQ world at a young age. The aromas and flavors of perfectly cooked meats filled his home throughout childhood, leaving an incurable mark on him. Oliver attended the Culinary Institute of America, where he realized what his one true passion in life was: barbeque. Oliver returned home and set out on an adventure of a lifetime. Now married with children, he is a renowned pit master with a simple motto: you bring it, I'll grill it. Together they travel the world on a culinary exploration. He enjoys learning new techniques and experimenting with different flavors to spice his knowledge up just enough to make his work unique. It was only natural Oliver decided to turn his wealth of knowledge into a series of books to help others learns the basics of the grill through easy to follow techniques and readily available ingredients. Oliver's greatest satisfaction comes from know he has been able to help others achieve their culinary dreams.
