Philip Kramer is a Seattle-based adventure and travel photographer. Born in Olympia, WA, and raised in nearby Montesano, WA, he began photographing rural landscapes around his home as a teenager. After receiving an AFA in Photography from Everett Community College in 2002, he moved to Seattle and began assisting acclaimed nature photographer Art Wolfe.
Kramer opened his own photography business in 2006 and began shooting stock imagery for Getty Images. His credits include NationalGeographic.com, Ranger Rick, Sunset, and Lonely Planet, and his work has been featured in advertising campaigns from Sony to Lexus to the Royal Bank of Scotland. His current work focuses on outdoor sports including backpacking, surfing, trail running, and backcountry ski touring. Learn more about his photography work at www.philipkramer.com. As a traveler and outdoor enthusiast, Kramer has adventured in over thirty countries on six continents. He is especially interested in long-distance self-propelled travel, and in 2013 completed a thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail, a 2,650-mile footpath stretching from Mexico to Canada.
