A long career in the Police, followed by a number of years spent working in South London providing services to rehabilitate those involved in crime, might suggest a more natural fit with crime writing. For Stephen Hughes though, the inspiration to write came from the arrival of his two youngest children to whom The Dinosaur in the Shed is dedicated. Stephen lives in Hertfordshire with his wife Louise, daughter Hannah and son Harry.
