Robert Farnsworth has published his poetry in magazines throughout the U.S., in Canada and the UK, including the Hudson Review, The Southern Review, Michigan Quarterly, Ploughshares, TriQuarterly, Beloit Poetry Journal, Malahat Review, Poetry & Audience, etc., and in three collections: RUMORED ISLANDS (Harbor Mountain Press, 2010), Honest Water (Wesleyan University Press, 1989), and Three or Four Hills and A Cloud (Wesleyan University Press, 1982). For seven years he edited poetry for the national quarterly The American Scholar. His work has won him a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship in poetry, and a P.E.N. Discovery citation. During the summer of 2006 he was the poet-in-residence at The Frost Place in Franconia, N.H. He has for seventeen years taught writing and literature at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, where he lives with his wife and two sons.
