Michael Schulz is Associate Professor in Peace and Development Research at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. He has published extensively on various issues in a comparative way (resistance, democracy and state building, peacebuilding, reconciliations, conflicts, and regionalism). He has published several edited books, book chapters and articles in journals such as Peace Education, Journal of Civil Sociey and Journal of Political Power. In 2016, he published (UNESCO) 'Liberal Peace Building, Resistance, and Conflict Transformation, ' that deals, among other contexts in a comparative way, with African peace building and resistance issues. His most recent (2017, co-authored with Baaz, Lilja and Vinthagen) publication is, 'How resistance encourages resistance: theorising the nexus between power, organized resistance and "everyday resistance,"' in Political power, Vol. 10 (1).
