Sam Davey is married with two children and lives with her husband and cat in a house by the sea on the south-east coast of England. She works full time at London’s Royal Opera House and  has also been a civil servant, working in the Cabinet Office at the heart of Westminster.

She has always loved the Arthurian stories, having first encountered the retellings as a young girl. She is the founder of the Hastings Book Fair and Chair of the Hastings Writers Group. A prize-winning short-story writer, her work has appeared in a number of anthologies, and she is also the author of Angels of Islington, a supernatural thriller.
