Paul B. Thornton is an author, speaker, and adjunct professor of business administration. He studied management, psychology, and political science at Ohio University. He was fortunate to take courses taught by Dr. Paul Hersey and Dr. Ken Blanchard. Their courses ignited his interest in learning what the best coaches, leaders, and managers do to help people grow, develop, and be their best. Paul continued his education and earned an M.B.A. from American International College and a Master of Education degree from Suffolk University. At age 27, he accepted a teaching and coaching position (varsity hockey) at American International College. His teams achieved a record of 63 wins, 33 losses, and 2 ties-- not bad! After teaching and coaching for five years, Paul accepted a position at the Hamilton Standard division of United Technologies. He was directly involved in designing and delivering management and leadership training and development programs, succession planning, and many human resource initiatives. In 1985 and 1996, he was the recipient of a United Technologies Award for Extraordinary Management Effectiveness. While a professor of business administration at Springfield Technical Community College, he was the 2015 recipient of the Joseph J. Deliso, Sr., Endowed Chair. Paul has published articles in The Leader-to-Leader Journal, Engineering Manager, Management Review, Leadership Excellence, Electronic Engineering Times, The Toastmaster, USA Today, and The CEO Refresher. He is the author of 15 books including: - Precise Leaders Get Results (Motivational Press) - Management-Principles and Practices (Kendall-Hunt Publishers) - Leadership-Off the Wall (Westbow Press) Paul has created over 20 management and leadership videos that can be found on YouTube. He has published numerous slide presentations that are available on slideshare.net. His wife, Mary Jean, is a talented leader, professor emeritus of business administration, and outstanding cook. They have two adult children: Kate (married to Corey) and Andy (married to Jess), and five grandsons: Anthony, Dominic, Keegan, Noah, and Owen. Future leaders-no doubt!
