Caroline Lamb (1785-1828) was a British novelist and socialite. Born Caroline Ponsonby, she married William Lamb, who later became the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. However, Caroline's tumultuous affair with the poet Lord Byron, which ended dramatically, brought her much attention and notoriety. Her novel 'Glenarvon', loosely based on her relationship with Byron, was met with controversy due to its thinly veiled portrayal of real-life individuals.
