Patricia Burroughs [aka Pooks] put in grueling research that spanned six decades for this mystery series. She lived with what she affectionately calls her dys-brain for most of those years knowing only that her thought processes, communications, and even her ability to do numbers or find her way out of a paper bag were a little off. Sometimes? A lot off. Whenever she traveled with other writers to conferences it generally turned into an episode of I Love Lucy, and she was the common denominator. But the thing about Lucy? She was fun. Discovering as an adult that she had ADHD, dyscalculia, and associated cognitive disorders helped Pooks understand a lot about the frustrations and struggles she has always worked through. She's never going to be good with numbers. Now she has a reason for it, that's all. She no longer gets to tell people she's allergic to numbers [which at least was good for laugh]. Somehow despite her struggles, Pooks published five romance novels, wrote seven screenplays, and the first epic volume of her YA fantasy series, The Fury Triad, while suffering all the issues her dys-brain threw at her, but without an official diagnosis. In addition, she won various awards including being a Romance Writers of America RITA Finalist, was named an RT Pioneer of Romance, and is an Academy Nicholl Fellow under the umbrella of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences in Beverly Hills, California. She is currently living her happily-ever-after with her high school sweetheart/husband, their Chihuahua and Australian Kelpie Dog, with her adult sons and their families within reach, all in the Dallas, Texas area. She hopes you enjoyed a warm, wacky visit inside M.J. O'Malley's brain. Are you as smart as she is? Can you figure out whodunnit first? If so, congrats! Pooks hopes you have a great time doing it!
