Eric C. Taylor attended Texas Technological College until called up for active duty in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Returned to civilian life after service of two years, he became employed in steam power plant electric generation operations. While working in a power plant in Wyoming, he became aware of an intriguing outlaw legend. This legend was brought to life in the book "The Castle Rock Legend." Many readers contacted him over a period of time, suggesting he write a sequel to the "Legend." In the manner of "The Canyon of Wild Horses" came to be, a twenty-years later sequel to the original story of the "Legend."
