Roger Brugge has been interested in weather since his school days. He obtained a PhD at Imperial College studying atmospheric convection and has subsequently developed computer models that simulate the workings of both the atmosphere and ocean. He currently works in the Department of Meteorology at the University of Reading. A Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society, Roger was formerly editor of the Society's Weather magazine, and he also helped to develop and run the Society's MetLink project for schools in its early years. In his spare time Roger is editor of the monthly bulletin of the Climatological Observers Link. His interest in 'current weather' led to the development of his long-running weather web pages covering UK weather. As a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) ambassador he also frequently visits schools to deliver talks about weather observing and forecasting.
