I started writing in 1981 after graduating from Berea College in KY with a B. A. degree in History. My very first play was written in order to give our youth at Oak Valley Baptist Church something else to present for Christmas besides the Nativity. I've written numerous plays since then. In 1991, I graduated from UT Knoxville with a M. F. A. in Playwriting. After that, I began teaching at MTSU. I taught there for 3 years full time and then 2 1/2 years as an adjunct. In about 1997, Vida Finley and I wrote the first installment for the Radio Soap opera, "Reality Check" which was broadcast on 92Q. Later, I became the sole writer of "Reality Check." I also wrote more soap opera segments for a group in Washington, D. C. which renamed the soap opera, "What's the Deal, Yo?." Presently, I teach public speaking full time at Roane State Community College.
