Taylor Brown, a finalist for both the Machigonne Fiction Contest and the Doris Betts Fiction Prize, is a recipient of the Montana Prize in Fiction. He is the author of three previous novels, Fallen Land, The River of Kings, and Gods of Howl Mountain.
